Gugu Mhlongo, known by her family
and peers, as being a messenger of change. Her life long quest has been to
inspire and support people to live the dreams they aspire to.
Growing up, Gugu was a Model and studied Librarianship, only to discover it was not
aligned to her goals. She then worked her way into the Corporate World, specialising in Customer Services
and after many years here, found her passion for expression in television
production. She pursued her curiosity here through acting and television
presenting.
Gugu always believed that she was more than what she saw in
herself everyday. There came a moment when she realized that survival was not
for her. She stopped everything, gave up her limitations and went on a humbling
spiritual initiation process.
This eventually led Gugu to study Consciousness Coaching through CCI, the
internationally acclaimed training academy run by one of South Africa’s top
life coaches, Marc Steinberg. It was here that the many pieces came together
and She started Lemosk.
The third level of achievement, that being the
spiritual, awakened in Gugu since a child and
finally found it’s true potential for expression in Lemosk. Being the managing
director of her own business, Gugu lives her full potential and assists others to do the
same.
She is also the chairperson for Masingita ya rirandzhu; a non profit organisation that focuses on
people with disabilities to overcome barriers.

Loving yourself

Watch a really young child in front of a mirror and you will notice they adore themselves; they know how fabulous they are, but put a young adult in front of the mirror and it is a whole different story.
Lack of self esteem is an epidemic in our societyWe have crazy notions of what beauty and success mean and some of us find ourselves wanting.
We are promised unconditional love; God adores us warts and all, no matter what.
Yet we deny our own magnificence which is a little crazy coz “God don’t make no junk” and a little cheeky too. Consider this; we will admire a powerful lion, a delicate flower or a glowing rainbow and celebrate their magnificence.
But we look in the mirror and it’s as if we dialogue with God in this way. “Love what you did with the lion and the flower and the rainbow, but gee you could have done a better job with me.”
Well I believe we should refuse to judge beauty and success by the magazines and marketing our society offers. We need to look for and find beauty in everyone and everything, and measure success not by abundance of money or power but by abundance of joy, harmony and love.
So begin adoring yourself not for how you look or what you’ve achieved but because within you is the kingdom of heaven, so what is not to adore?
